Mariah Idrissi

Model & Official Ambassador, Formula E

Mariah Idrissi (@mariahidrissi) is a model, presenter and filmmaker from the UK. She was scouted in a shopping centre and featured in H&M’s international ‘Close the Loop’ campaign in 2015 after which she became recognised as the world’s first hijab wearing model. Mariah has been featured in numerous publications, including CNN, BBC, and the New York Times, all of which have recognised her a leading authority in ‘modest fashion’. In 2016, Mariah spoke on the subject of “Changing the Face of Fashion” at the TEDxTeen Conference.

She has spoken on modest fashion internationally including at SXSW, the Middle East Youth Expo and Stylist Live. She has also spoken at both the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, as well as debating at the Oxford Union. Mariah was on the cover of Emirates Woman Magazine and featured in Rihanna’s FENTY beauty campaign in 2017. She has worked with brands such as The Body Shop, TOD’s and Disney. Mariah signed with Insanity Group Management in 2018 and became recognised as a MIPAD (Most Influential People of African Descent) by the United Nations. She also won the ‘Young Achiever’ Award at the Arabian Business Awards in 2019.

Outside of modelling, Mariah produced and presented a short documentary for Comic Relief and produced online adverts for MAC cosmetics and Elizabeth Arden. She contributes as a writer to magazines such as Grazia, Vogue Arabia and Stylist and works with a handful of charities including as an ambassador for ‘Help Yateem’. She travelled to Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia in 2019 to film a documentary promoting their work and helped raise almost £100,000. In 2020, Mariah became an ambassador for Sky and Good Earth Tea. During the global pandemic, Mariah created more content online for brands and became vocal about sustainable fashion. In 2021, she became an ambassador for Formula E. She is currently working on a feature film and documentary, and is now represented by Good Vibes Only Talent.
