GITEX Global is accelerating the epic race for AI dominance in 2023: how is your business embracing the AI innovation wave?
Juniper Networks is a leader in AI-driven solutions. The company empowers enterprises, service providers and cloud operators to put AI into action, which means gaining actionable insights with real-time data to improve network operations and user experiences. For example, the Juniper Mist™ AI platform makes networking predictable, reliable and measurable with unprecedented visibility into the individual user experience. Time-consuming manual IT tasks are being replaced with AI-driven proactive automation and self-healing capabilities, increasing consistency, lowering networking operational costs and saving substantial time and money.
Aside from AI, what is the world’s next big technology shift and how should government, society, and business, prepare for it?
One of the biggest technology shifts transforming the global economy is the need to build and operate sustainable IT infrastructure in support of ongoing carbon reduction efforts. For Juniper Networks, our biggest opportunity to play a part in the global climate challenge is within our value chain, with the overwhelming amount of our carbon footprint resulting from the work to assemble, move and operate the products our customers purchase. Therefore, Juniper Networks is committing to move beyond its 2025 carbon neutral commitment and establish Scope 3 goals. Juniper will be committing to a Science Based Target and plans to reduce the three largest categories of our Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 22.5% by 2030.
Our dedication to sustainability is further evidenced by our efforts to extend product lifespans through modular designs and adaptive power innovations. The Juniper ACX7000 Cloud Metro router family, for instance, incorporates features that automatically conserve power when not in use. By promoting longer product lifecycles, we mitigate the need for frequent replacements, reducing manufacturing impacts and e-waste.
To empower our customers with carbon footprint insights, we introduced the Power & CO2 Calculator, enabling stakeholders to understand emissions across different product lifecycle phases. This tool underscores our transparency and accountability in promoting sustainable practices.
GITEX Global and GITEX Impact will build up the momentum for COP 28, taking place in Dubai from 30 November -12 December. How do you see the adoption of ESG strategies by tech companies, and what are the critical factors for those initiatives leading to a more sustainable future?
Last year, Juniper Networks partnered with Vanson Bourne to conduct a survey of 650 IT decision makers (ITDMs) and 1,200 office workers across EMEA to gauge confidence in sustainable networking transformation within business. Juniper’s “Future of Networking” report found that 54 percent of respondents from Saudi Arabia and 62 percent of those in the UAE thought that sustainable networking is extremely important in terms of making a significant contribution towards ongoing climate change measures. As a company, Juniper exists to facilitate connection, enabling the exchange of information that drives society and the global economy. That’s our value proposition but also our societal function and higher calling—both the product of our efforts and the enabler of our impact. It’s the story of Juniper today and the story of our future.
