AI & Sustainable Business Transformation

Technologies like machine learning make it possible, for the first time in history, for companies to be more profitable because they’re more sustainable and create a positive social impact. This idea, which we call sustainable business transformation, is the successor to digital transformation and will upend business models and industries in the same way over the coming years. Since the corporate superpowers of the next century will be data-driven, AI-led sustainable superpower, Forbes Ignite is hosting a short workshop to help C-level leaders plot their competitive edge in this world. During the workshop, we’ll review the Forbes Ignite AI Canvas from our upcoming book, “What’s Your AI Strategy” and the sustainable innovation flywheel created with some of the most significant organizations on the planet.
Who should attend:
• C-level and SVP equivalent leaders in IT, strategy, data science, sustainability, social impact and innovation who want to understand how AI and sustainability will drive their growth strategies in the next decade and beyond.
• Director+ data science practitioners who want to understand the business and strategy context behind the sustainable, AI-driven business models of the future

How to mitigate financial statement fraud risk in the age of COVID-19

The pandemic turned a medical emergency into a global macroeconomic crisis, causing market volatility and markets to suffer losses unseen since the 2008 financial crisis. Meanwhile we’re witnessing an increase of financial statement fraud. Economic booms help fraudsters paper over cracks in their accounts, from fictitious investment returns to exaggerated sales. Slowdowns rip the covering off leaving financial institutions and other stakeholders to suffer the consequences.

The most recent case by Luckin Coffee, NMC Health and Wirecard, where they disclosed a €1.9bn hole in its accounts will not be the last cases we’ll see. Now more than before, the role of technology in detecting and preventing fraud is crucial. In a session with Confirmation, part of Thomson Reuters, Anders Jensen, Managing Director MENA will explore:

The new opportunities for financial statement fraud brought by the pandemic

The risks of traditional communication processes and working with legacy systems and processes

The benefits of financial institutions innovating in this area and the role of technology in detecting and preventing financial crime

Transcending Borders: How Local Campaigns Go Global

In this session we will hear from the Memac Oglivy Dubai team behind the multi-award-winning Al Futtaim IKEA campaign ‘Buy with your time.’’ The campaign was created in a bid to reward customers for travelling to IKEA stores that are typically located on the outskirts of cities. By leveraging Google Maps timeline, Memac Ogilvy Dubai saw an opportunity to reward IKEA’s loyal customers who made the trip regardless. Turning a trip barrier into a strength, the agency created an activation that converts time spent to make a trip to IKEA stores into a currency that allows people to buy IKEA products, which resulted in a 30% increase in store footfall. The local campaign went on to win countless marketing awards across the globe.

Demystifying next gen AI adoption

In today’s data driven business world, catchphrases like data analytics, data science (DS), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) are terms swirling around boardroom discussions. These digital concepts are increasingly becoming imperative for CIOs and IT leaders in critical decision-making process. Often times these terminologies are loosely or interchangeably referred, without deciphering the real meaning and how individually and collectively they impact businesses. In order to exploit the true potential of these technologies, it is critical for companies to demystify the ambiguity surrounding them.
In this session, we attempt to demystify the terminologies, explain the comprehensiveness of what data science and data analytics is, what artificial intelligence (AI) embodies, and how technologies like Machine Leaning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) are evolving fast, stimulating AI adoption on a broader scale. Here, we take you briefly through the natural evolution of these technologies spanning over decades, how we could distinguish one from another in our business conversations and how today they interact and correlate with each other to digitally transform the current business landscape.

SIEM or XDR – Why not both?

The world is evolving, shifting workloads and applications into the cloud and generating exponentially more data. As a result, security teams must both keep pace with organizational changes and stay ahead of adversaries. Unfortunately, legacy SIEMs hinder modern security processes by preventing direct, centralized access to context from across the ecosystem.
Achieving control starts with unlocking the data available within your SIEM, security analytics, EPP, EDR, and XDR deployment. With infinite search across all data, enterprises can power threat prevention, detection, and response. Organizations must harness the digital data explosion to address today’s security challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s — all with the unified user experience of Elastic Security, the world’s only free and open SIEM and XDR solution.

Bitcoin adoption and investment strategies

In today’s market, hope, luck and long-term valuation models are not an effective strategy for active traders. If you are not a believer in buy and hold, you need to master the skills of other professional traders so that you can compete in this high stakes game.

This 60-minute session gives an overview of the techniques with continuous reference to real and recent examples that demonstrate the advantages of Technical Analysis. The examples will range across all market types from Bitcoin, Stocks, Indices, Commodities (ex: Gold, Oil) and FX. Technical Analysis is very misunderstood. Unless you have significant capital and manpower, like a hedge fund, the at-home trader will never be able to out-compete the professional on research. Many people think that what they read in the news or watch on financial media is fundamental research, but it is not. Sure, you can take your chance at

trading with the news cycle but it usually leads to buying high and selling low. The traps of the beginner trader are real and Technical Analysis rules, sound Risk & Leverage Management and knowing when to

Breaking the critical points of the ransomware attack chain

The frequency of Ransomware attacks are on the rise. Ransomware groups are looking to reach your critical assets and increase their chances of getting a higher ransom payout. In 2021, the largest ransomware payout was made by an insurance company at $40 million, setting a world record.
As the attack surface grows across on-premises and cloud environments and our risk to cyber exposures increases, we must adopt a new approach to breaking critical points of the attack chain. By gaining visibility into how attackers stealthily move within our network to take control of critical assets and exfiltrate and encrypt data, we can act to remediate much of the risk and prevent the attack from happening in the first place.
